Tatsuki Masaru (b.1974) is the 37th Kimura Ihei award winner . He has been photographing the north area (called Tohoku area) in Japan before the aftermath in 2011 (you can see many of his photos from award winning book Tohoku on his web site) .
This is the first series of work related to Tohoku, after the 3.11. Title means ‘is the blood still red?’.
Published in conjunction with the exhibition at SLANT gallery in 2012.
